Area Sales Manager

Re S.p.A, headquartered in Milan, Italy, is a respected provider of cutting-edge equipment that helps its customers improve their paper, film, and foil web converting, packaging, and printing processes. Re USA, located in Pembroke, Massachusetts, is Re’s direct office serving the USA and Canada.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Sales Manager will promote the entire Re S.p.A. product range by interacting regularly with existing customers, as well as identifying and pursuing new business prospects. The position requires active sales outreach via telephone and email, and necessitates some business travel to show and sell products in person.

Candidates must be motivated, hard-working, and self-disciplined. Ideally, the position is on-site at our office and warehouse in Pembroke, Massachusetts, Monday through Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm. However, we will consider hybrid or remote situations for the right candidate. Business travel and trade show travel will, at times, require different and longer hours.

Responsibilities The main goal of this position is to grow sales.

  • Develop sales strategies for the acquisition of new business accounts.
  • Execute sales strategies to meet or exceed gross profit goals, including mandatory minimum of ten sales trips per year. Written monthly sales forecast reports and sales visit results reports will be required. Sales trips must be preplanned with 4-6 visits per day. Arranging travel logistics (rental cars, hotels, airfare) is also part of the job.
  • 50% sales activity (including cold calling, making initial contact with the correct person, making appointments, establishing clear futures, and qualifying prospects for appointments) should be done every day. Quoting and following up on quotations is also mandatory.
  • Weekly sales results review with supervisor to discuss previous week’s activities.
  • Analyze industry trends and markets to position Re S.p.A products for increased sales.
  • Prepare for and attend industry trade shows.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the narrow/wide web paper, film, and foil converting industries.
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software with attention to record-keeping details (notes, contacts, accurate company information).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Fluent English.
  • Proactive work ethic, trustworthiness.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required to demonstrate Re products and to identify sales opportunities.
