Load Cells
Accurately detecting the tension of the material is the first step in achieving perfect web tension control. Our wide range of load cells use strain gauge technology to guarantee accuracy and reliability for all kinds of applications. In addition to flange, through-shaft, and base load cells, we also provide sensor rollers, cantilever, compression, and traction load cells.
Load Cells
Flange-mounted load cells are the most common. They are mounted at the end of a dead shaft measuring roller, and precisely detect forces generated by pulling the material at known winding angles.
Like flange-mounted load cells, through-shaft load cells are also mounted at the end of a measuring roller, but use an integral bearing with a live shaft roller.
“Base” or “Foot” mounted load cells with high resistance to vibration for accurate measuring of tension in heavy-duty applications; common in paper mills.
This unique cantilevered load cell sensor roller precisely detects the web tension using two internal sensors, so the position of the material on the roller doesn’t affect the reading.
The F-2 ultra flat load cells are ideal for applications requiring low to medium tension and tight spaces, such as in offset printing, digital printing, narrow web printing, label printing and laminating machines.
Load Cell Signal Amplifiers
Pyxis is a compact analogue amplifier for load cells. Its HW/SW configuration cuts signal processing times and allows up to four load cells to be connected.
Lynx is a microprocessor-driven digital amplifier for load cells, designed to deliver precision and reliability in web tension control applications.
